Friends of Burdiehouse Burn Valley Nature Reserve are organising a camping to prevent motor bikes from causing havoc in the park. I was pleased to head down to the park to support the campaign.
Council rules for parks prohibit cars, motorbikes, quad bikes and other vehicles except on roads and in car parks. However these rules are being clearly flouted and it is only a matter of timne before someone is seriously injured.
The campaign has already been successful in getting commitments from the Police and the Council to increase patrols. Park goers are encouraged to report biker riders by calling 101.
See the Friends of Burdiehouse Burn Facebook page for more information on the campaign and other excellent work they do.
