The recent school closures in Edinburgh have caused massive distress to parents and pupils across the city.
South Edinburgh has absolutely fantastic schools with dedicated staff and engaged parents. It is right that the schools have been temporarily shut but the Council must work quickly and diligently to ensure the schools are a safe environment for the pupils and are reopened as soon as possible. Everything possible should be done to ensure pupils, particularly those coming up to important exams are supported and that parents are financially recompensed for any costs incurred as a result of the closures.
